The Classic Reel Care Kit is a "must-have" for all classic reel anglers. I have been a classic reel enthusiast all my life and I want to see these reels used, protected, preserved and enjoyed. Like my line of reels, the classic reels contain real brass and steel gearing. Most of these reels were produced before anodizing became available, and corrosion is a real problem. I believe I have found the answer to this problem.
In April, The Spey Company will be offering a Classic Reel Care Kit which will include all of the following:
1. A corrosion inhibiting draw string reel bag that will fit spey reels up to 4 1/2" diameter.
2. A grease line applicator with 4cc of grease. I have been using this grease and oil in my classic reels for over two years. The first thought that comes to mind is that this stuff is AMAZING. This grease is the best! It stops all rust and corrosion by creating a gas film over the steel, brass and aluminium. It out-performed all other marine grade grease by several hundred percent in a military test. I will be offering this in April and it will also be sold separately from my "Classic Reel Care Kit".
3. Silicone wiping cloth
4. 2 years worth of inhibiting cards for reel bags and fly boxes.
This kit will come standard with all Spey Company reels and they will also be available on my EBAY Store in April. Like all Spey Company products, they will be made in the U.S.A. and quality constructed at an affordable price.
